The request was brought before the Pathanamthitta District Secretariat meeting. While the official reason cited by George Joseph is “family matters,” political corridors are buzzing with speculation. Critics and opposition supporters are quick to suggest that this move stems from a realization that the sitting MLA might face a tough battle or a potential defeat in her constituency.
