PM Modi Promises Secure Future for Youth, Announces Nandan Nilekani-Led High-Powered Task Force for Exam Reforms

NEW DELHI: In a direct video message addressed to the nation’s youth and students, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the creation of a high-powered task force headed by world-renowned technology expert and Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani to overhaul India’s examination system.

The initiative aims to build a technology-driven, transparent, and completely reliable testing framework following widespread concerns and protests surrounding paper leaks and irregularities in competitive exams.

Focus on Technology and Systemic Overhaul
Speaking on social media, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the government is looking toward future-proof solutions to protect student interests.
”Our examination system needs to be reliable and transparent, and it must make maximum use of technology. Keeping all these factors in mind, we have decided to constitute a high-powered task force under the leadership of the world-renowned technology expert Nandan Nilekani,” PM Modi stated.

The task force will evaluate current examination infrastructures, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend sweeping digital and systemic reforms. Action will be taken based on its report to restore absolute credibility to upcoming public tests across the country.

Crackdown on Exam Malpractices and Legal Action
Addressing recent controversies, PM Modi reassured students that those guilty of compromising exam integrity are already facing strict consequences.
Legal Actions Taken: Fast-track courts have been set up to try offenders, and multiple individuals implicated in paper leaks are currently behind bars.
New Legislation: Parliament is set to table the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, introducing stringent legal provisions, time-bound investigations, and heavy penalties for organized examination fraud.

The announcement comes amidst major administrative shifts in the Ministry of Education aimed at restoring trust among millions of students preparing for nationwide entrance examinations.
