Alappuzha: The Kerala government has sanctioned ₹80.07 crore in relief assistance for families in Alappuzha district who suffered losses after floodwaters entered their homes and premises during the monsoon-related calamities.
The assistance has been sanctioned through the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) and the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), along with a separate provision for direct financial assistance to families affected by the flooding.
An amount of ₹32.13 crore has been sanctioned from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund, while ₹25.56 crore has been allocated from the State Disaster Response Fund.
In addition, financial assistance has been sanctioned for families affected by the floodwaters based on ration cards. Each eligible ration card, covering two adults, will receive assistance of ₹300 per day for seven days.
As part of this assistance, 1,06,535 beneficiaries will receive ₹300 per day for seven days, for which ₹22.37 crore has been sanctioned.
Government Orders
The ₹32.13 crore from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund was sanctioned through Government Order No. 1783/2026/RD dated September 10, 2026.
Meanwhile, Government Order No. 383/2026/DMD dated September 22, 2026 sanctioned the ₹25.56 crore SDRF allocation as well as ₹22.37 crore for assistance to 1,06,535 beneficiaries.
The relief package is aimed at providing immediate financial support to families affected by flooding during the monsoon. The assistance is expected to help affected households meet essential expenses and recover from the losses caused by the disaster.
The three components—₹32.13 crore from CMDRF, ₹25.56 crore from SDRF and ₹22.37 crore for direct beneficiary assistance—represent the major financial support announced for flood-affected families in Alappuzha.
