Kochi – The official trailer for the much-anticipated Malayalam thriller “Paathiraathri” (Midnight) has been released, promising an edge-of-the-seat cinematic experience. Starring Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir in the lead roles as police officers, the trailer hints at a dark and suspenseful crime drama that unfolds over the course of a single night.
The film is the second directorial venture from Ratheena, who previously helmed the Mammootty-starrer “Puzhu.” The trailer for “Paathiraathri” masterfully blends elements of a tense investigation with deep emotional undercurrents, suggesting that the film will be more than just a typical whodunit. It follows the lives of police officers Jansi (Navya Nair) and Hareesh (Soubin Shahir) as they are drawn into a complex case, with the tagline “Every crime loves a midnight” setting a chilling tone.
Produced by Dr. K.V. Abdul Nazar and Ashia Nazar under the banner of Benzy Productions, the film is slated for an October release. The intriguing trailer has already captivated audiences, building on the buzz generated by its earlier teaser. The film will be distributed in Kerala by Dream Big Films.
“Paathiraathri” features a stellar ensemble cast, with Sunny Wayne and Ann Augustine appearing in pivotal roles. The supporting cast includes prominent actors such as Atmeeya Rajan, Sabareesh Varma, Harisree Ashokan, Achyuth Kumar, Indrans, and Tejas.
The screenplay for this crime drama, which marks the first collaboration between Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir, is penned by Shaji Marad. The film’s music is composed by the acclaimed Jakes Bejoy, with the music rights being acquired by T-Series for a significant sum.
