Chennai : Superstar Rajinikanth has once again demonstrated his extraordinary box office appeal as Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, continues its remarkable theatrical run.
Released on October 15, 2026, the action entertainer has collected an estimated ₹477.75 crore worldwide in just five days, according to box office tracking platform Sacnilk.
The film has registered an impressive ₹242.25 crore India net collection, while its domestic gross stands at ₹283.75 crore.
International markets have contributed approximately ₹194 crore, underlining Rajinikanth’s popularity beyond India.
With just ₹22.25 crore separating the film from the ₹500 crore worldwide milestone, the sequel is approaching another major achievement.
Spectacular Opening Sets the Stage
Jailer 2 began its theatrical journey with an impressive ₹59.70 crore India net collection on its opening day.
Its worldwide opening-day gross was reported at approximately ₹125.25 crore.
The strong opening reflected the anticipation surrounding Rajinikanth’s return as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.
The film continued its impressive performance throughout the opening weekend, reaching ₹424.25 crore worldwide by the end of Sunday, October 18.
Monday Box Office Performance Remains Strong
Despite the usual weekday slowdown, Jailer 2 maintained considerable momentum on Monday, October 19.
The film earned ₹42.35 crore net across India on its fifth day.
The Tamil version dominated the collections with ₹31.40 crore, followed by Telugu with ₹7.15 crore, Hindi with ₹3.35 crore and Kannada with ₹0.45 crore.
The fifth-day earnings came from 15,215 shows across India.
These figures indicate that the film continues to attract audiences beyond its opening weekend.
Kerala Emerges as a Major Market
Kerala has emerged as an important contributor to Jailer 2’s domestic box office performance.
According to Sacnilk’s state-wise estimates, the film has collected approximately ₹48.20 crore gross in Kerala during its first five days.
The state recorded an estimated ₹12.70 crore opening-day gross, followed by ₹7.90 crore on Friday, ₹8.85 crore on Saturday, ₹10.75 crore on Sunday and ₹8 crore on Monday.
The strong performance highlights the film’s appeal among Malayalam-speaking audiences.
Mohanlal’s Presence Adds to the Excitement
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s appearance is another attraction for audiences in Kerala.
The film features an ensemble cast including Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Vidya Balan and S. J. Suryah.
Nelson Dilipkumar’s direction and Anirudh Ravichander’s music further contribute to the film’s commercial appeal.
The sequel builds on the popularity of the original Jailer, which was released in 2023.
Can Jailer 2 Cross ₹500 Crore on Day 6?
With worldwide collections standing at ₹477.75 crore after five days, Jailer 2 needs another ₹22.25 crore to enter the prestigious ₹500 crore club.
Its strong domestic performance and overseas earnings place the film in a promising position to achieve that milestone.
However, its longer-term box office prospects will depend on weekday collections, audience response and competition from upcoming releases.
Jailer 2 is already among the most notable Tamil box office performers of 2026, reinforcing Rajinikanth’s enduring commercial appeal.
