THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan famously quoted that “every file represents a human life” to highlight administrative responsiveness. However, as his term came to an end, official records reveal a stark contrast between speeches and reality: over 2.43 lakh files remain trapped in bureaucratic red tape across various government departments and the Secretariat.
Critics and political analysts point out that despite holding office for two consecutive terms, the previous administration failed to streamline office governance, leaving citizens waiting indefinitely for resolutions regarding pensions, land records, welfare schemes, and administrative clearances.
Taking strong note of the massive backlog, Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan announced a massive ‘File Adalat’ drive during today’s Cabinet meeting to clear all pending matters on a war footing.
Behind every pending file lies the hope, distress, and livelihood of an ordinary citizen,” stated Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan. “Our goal is to eliminate administrative delays and ensure transparent, speedy governance.”
