Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Minister of Kerala met and congratulated the key Keralite engineers of Skyroot Aerospace who played pivotal roles in the milestone ‘Vikram-1’ rocket mission. Seven representatives from the 14-member Malayali engineering team visited the Secretariat to interact with the Chief Minister V.D Satheesan.
Commending their achievement, the Chief Minister remarked that the significant contributions of young Keralite minds to India’s historic space advancement bring immense pride to the state. He highlighted how these young engineers assumed critical responsibilities spanning rocket construction, quality assurance, and technical operations.
Delegation at the Secretariat
​The seven-member delegation that met the Chief Minister included:
​Nirmal Nelson (Parakode, Pathanamthitta): Coordinated the electro-mechanical systems of the launch vehicle.
​Ajith Kumar S (Vetticode, Alappuzha): Contributed to the design of the liquid propulsion stage.
​Dr. Binett Monachan (Kottarakkara, Kollam): Handled design and testing of the fluid control systems.
​Ajin Ghosh K.K (Naduvannur, Kozhikode): Key contributor to propulsion system design.
​Ranjith Ravi (Kozhikode)
​Lint C. Thomas (Kozhikode): Member of the Avionics Quality & Reliability team.
​Anjali Ashokan (Ernakulam): Member of the Avionics Quality & Reliability team.
The remaining Malayali engineers who contributed to the mission include Vaisakh V, Ramsheej M, Ananthakrishnan, Vishnu M.K, Srinath S, Rahul Ramesh, and Alexis J. Neerakkal.
Special Mementos Presented
​During the meeting, the engineering team presented the Chief Minister with a specially engineered Zero-Gravity Space Pen and a copy of the book ‘The Second Orbit’ authored by astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla.
