THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the deadlock over the selection of the Kerala Chief Minister continues, the Congress High Command and state leadership are facing intense scrutiny on social media. Party supporters and political observers are questioning the rationale behind including Members of Parliament (MPs) in the leadership discussions, despite a prior decision that MPs should not contest the state elections.
Key Concerns Raised:
​Democratic Propriety: Critics argue that when consulting MLAs to choose their leader, the names of MPs should naturally be excluded. Their inclusion has complicated the process unnecessarily.
Avoidable Delays: There is a strong sentiment that had the race been limited to the elected MLAs, a decision could have been reached much earlier, avoiding the current political uncertainty.
Leadership Paralysis: Social media users are asking why KPCC presidents and senior leaders aren’t being vocal enough in advising the High Command to stick to the elected representatives.
