UGC NET 2026 Provisional Answer Key Released for 84 Subjects; Challenge Window Open Till August 18

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the provisional answer keys along with candidate response sheets and question papers for the UGC NET June 2026 examination across 84 subjects. Candidates who appeared for the national-level eligibility test can now access and download their answer keys directly from the official portal at ugcnet.nta.ac.in or ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Key Highlights & Objection Window
Candidates who wish to raise objections against any answer in the provisional key can do so online:
Objection Period: August 16 to August 18, 2026 (up to 11:59 PM).
Processing Fee: ₹200 per question challenged (non-refundable unless accepted by expert panel).
Payment Method: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Update on Excluded Subjects
The current release covers 84 out of 87 subjects. The provisional answer keys for three remaining subjects—English, Commerce, and Sociology—were withheld due to reports of technical and paper errors. A specialized committee was formed to evaluate the issues, and NTA will issue a separate public notice regarding these three subjects shortly.

How Subject Experts Process Challenges
All challenges submitted by candidates will be verified by a panel of subject experts. If an objection is validated, the answer key will be revised across all candidate response sheets. The final results and scorecards will be prepared based on the finalized answer key.
