Palakkad Division Maintenance Block: West Coast Express Rescheduled, Other Trains to Face Delays in October

Palakkad: Southern Railway has announced a series of train service changes for the month of October due to an approved maintenance block in the Palakkad Division. Passengers travelling on key routes are advised to take note of rescheduled departure times and potential en-route delays.

The “Fixed Time Corridor Block” will primarily affect the popular Mangaluru Central – Dr MGR Chennai Central West Coast Express and the Porbandar – Kochuveli Express.

Rescheduling of West Coast Express

According to the notification, Train No. 22638 Mangaluru Central – Dr MGR Chennai Central West Coast Express will be rescheduled on two days.

The service scheduled to leave Mangaluru Central at 23:45 hrs on October 10th and 12th, 2025, will now depart at 00:35 hrs on October 11th and 13th, 2025, respectively. This marks a delay of 50 minutes from its original schedule.

Regulation and En-route Delays

Several other services will be regulated, meaning they will be held at certain points along their route, resulting in delays.

Train No. 22638 West Coast Express, on its scheduled departures from Mangaluru Central on October 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2025, will be regulated for 20 minutes en route.

Train No. 20910 Porbandar – Kochuveli Express, on its scheduled departures from Porbandar on October 23rd and 30th, 2025, will be regulated for 40 minutes during its journey.

Southern Railway has requested all passengers to check the revised train timings with railway authorities or online portals before commencing their travel to avoid any inconvenience.
