Thiruvananthapuram: In a major relief to consumers navigating the festive market, the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) has launched a dedicated ‘Bakrid Special Kit’ ahead of Eid al-Adha. Aimed at curbing open-market price exploitation and easing the financial burden on families, the special grocery bundle offers items worth ₹1,101 at a heavily subsidized price of ₹850.
The state government’s initiative ensures that household essentials required for the festive season are packed together at a discount of over ₹250. According to official announcements, these special festive kits will be available across all Supplyco outlets in the state for a limited period, concluding on May 26.
What’s Inside the Supplyco Bakrid Kit?
The specially curated bundle contains 10 essential culinary items tailored for traditional festival cooking:
Biryani Rice: 3 kg
Sugar: 1 kg
Sabari Coconut Oil: 1 Liter
Sabari Appam Powder: 1 kg
Sabari Gold Tea Powder: 250 g
Spices & Powders: Meat Masala (100g), Chicken Masala (100g), Black Pepper Powder (100g), and Garam Masala (50g).
Whole Whole Spices Combo: A 50g assortment including premium cardamom (elaichi) and cloves.
Authorities have urged the public to utilize this window at their nearest Supplyco supermarkets and Maveli stores to secure their festive supplies before the May 26 deadline.
