New Delhi: Nissan has officially entered the highly competitive midsize SUV segment in India with the launch of its brand-new offering, the Nissan Tekton. Prices for the SUV start at an aggressive Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a direct challenger to the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. Nissan has announced that customer deliveries will commence on July 20.

Design & Styling Inspired by the Patrol
The Nissan Tekton shares its platform and structural underpinnings with the upcoming Renault Duster, but features a completely distinct identity. The exterior design draws major cues from Nissan’s legendary flagship global SUV, the Nissan Patrol. The front sports an upright stance highlighted by a prominent full-width LED light bar, C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), and dual chrome strips slicing through the central grille. The profile is marked by muscular wheel arches housing 18-inch alloy wheels, while the rear gets modern connected LED taillights, a rugged silver bumper insert, and distinct C-pillar mounted rear door handles.

Premium Interiors & Tech-loaded Cabin
Inside, Nissan has opted for a sophisticated dual-tone light grey and burgundy theme accented with rose gold trims. The driver-focused cockpit is equipped with:
A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
A 10.1-inch central touchscreen infotainment system
A 3-spoke steering wheel
Premium comforts such as ventilated and 6-way adjustable front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and a powered tailgate.
Safety First
Nissan has left no stone unturned in terms of safety, loading the top-spec trims with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree camera, and 6 airbags as standard.

Engine & Performance Options
The Tekton is powered entirely by turbo-petrol engines, giving buyers two distinct options:
1.0-Litre, 3-Cylinder Turbo Petrol: Puts out 99 BHP and 166 Nm of torque, mated exclusively to a 6-speed manual transmission.
1.3-Litre, 4-Cylinder Turbo Petrol: Develops a punchy 161 BHP and 280 Nm of torque. This engine can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a lightning-fast 6-speed Dual-Clutch Automatic (DCT) gearbox.
