THRISSUR:In a devastating blow to the AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, Dr. Yuhanon Mar Meletius Metropolitan, the head of the Thrissur Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, has launched a blistering attack on the veteran leader’s toxic factional politics.
Taking to Facebook, the influential Metropolitan tore into Venugopal’s alleged attempts to destabilize the newly formed state government.
”KC Venugopal will use the youth to pull the chestnuts out of the fire and eventually reduce the party in Kerala to the pathetic state of its North Indian units,” Dr. Yuhanon Mar Meletius declared bluntly.
The aggressive remarks come amid rising fury within political circles over Venugopal’s suspected backroom operations. He stands accused of weaponizing KSU (Kerala Students Union) activists to intentionally orchestrate protests and internal rebellion against the UDF government led by Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, which has just assumed power after a decade-long hiatus.
