KANNUR / ERNAKULAM: Following the high-profile arrest of history-sheeter Arjun Ayanki from a hideout in Kannur, the Cyber Police and Special Investigation Squads have turned their attention toward his key associate, Pranav, a resident of Azhikode. Investigators have revealed that Pranav allegedly operated as the “Admin” managing and publishing controversial and threatening social media posts on Ayanki’s behalf while Ayanki was on the run.
Key Details of the Investigation
The ‘Admin’ Role: According to police sources, Arjun Ayanki confessed during interrogation that the defiant social media posts—which directly targeted and threatened police personnel—were drafted and uploaded by Pranav while Ayanki remained in hiding.
Movements Before Arrest: Investigation revealed that Pranav accompanied Ayanki during his movement from Ernakulam to Kannur. The duo was reportedly together in Taliparamba until around noon on Saturday before parting ways as police intensified their surveillance.
Forensic & Digital Evidence: Law enforcement officials have seized the mobile phone used by Ayanki and sent it for detailed digital forensic examination to verify whether the accounts were directly accessed from that device or remotely administered by Pranav.
Current Status: While Arjun Ayanki was produced before the Kuthuparamba Magistrate and remanded to Thalassery Special Sub-Jail, police teams have launched an extensive manhunt to trace and apprehend Pranav, who is currently absconding.
The police department has emphasized that under ‘Operation Grip,’ strict measures will be enforced against individuals involved in organized crime networks and those aiding fugitives through social media channels or logistics.
