THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Demonstrating historic public footfall ahead of Onam, Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) has achieved a revenue of ₹391.75 crore within just 33 days. According to official figures recorded up to August 24 afternoon, the sales turnover from August 1 alone touched ₹320 crore.
The figures significantly eclipse the previous year’s performance. During the last Onam season, Supplyco registered a total turnover of ₹385 crore across 35 days (August 1 to September 4). Unprecedented rush at both standard Supplyco outlets and dedicated Onam Fairs propelled this year’s figures beyond ₹391 crore in a shorter timeframe.
District-level trade fairs across the state contributed ₹4.65 crore to the overall sales, led by major venues in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Ernakulam. The Mega Trade Fair in Thiruvananthapuram alone brought in ₹81 lakh in sales revenue.
To accommodate last-minute festival shoppers, Supplyco outlets and special Onam fairs remain operational today on Uthradam (August 25).
