Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has demonstrated a robust financial performance in the current fiscal year up to August 2026, registering a total revenue of ₹27,896.01 Crore compared to ₹24,101.68 Crore during the same period in 2025. This marks a notable Year-on-Year (YoY) revenue growth of 15.74%.
According to the official revenue data:
GST Revenue: Total GST Revenue up to August 2026 touched ₹16,211.26 Crore, showing a strong growth of 21.78% compared to ₹13,312.23 Crore recorded up to August 2025. In August 2026 alone, the state collected ₹3,268 Crore, driven by SGST Paid in Cash (₹1,368 Cr) and IGST Settlement (₹1,899 Cr).
GST Collection: Total GST collection reached ₹16,424.09 Crore compared to ₹14,939.50 Crore in the previous year, marking a 9.94% growth.
VAT Revenue: Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue increased by 10.89%, growing from ₹141.09 Crore (upto Aug 2025) to ₹156.45 Crore (upto Aug 2026).
KGST Revenue: Kerala General Sales Tax (KGST) collection reached ₹11,528.30 Crore up to August 2026, registering an 8.26% growth over ₹10,648.36 Crore from the previous year. Major contributors in August 2026 include Petroleum Products (₹1,215 Cr) and KSBC (₹974 Cr).
Overall, the total Non-GST revenue for August 2026 stood at ₹2,292 Crore, taking the total revenue for the single month of August 2026 to ₹5,559 Crore. The sustained growth across all revenue heads indicates an effective financial management momentum in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister V. D Satheesan.
