Kottayam: The Kerala government has sanctioned ₹51.15 crore in flood relief assistance for families in Kottayam district whose houses were affected by floodwaters during the monsoon-related calamities.
A total of 51,152 affected families in the district will receive financial assistance of ₹10,000 each for cleaning and restoring their homes after floodwater entered their premises.
Relief from SDRF and Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund
Of the total assistance, ₹25,57,60,000 has been sanctioned from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). The allocation was made as per Government Order No. 380/2026/DMD dated September 21, 2026.
An additional ₹25,57,60,000 has been sanctioned from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) through Government Order No. 1938/2026/RD dated September 29, 2026.
The total relief package is as follows:
SDRF allocation: ₹25.576 crore
CMDRF allocation: ₹25.576 crore
