THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major administrative restructuring within the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB), three high-profile retired IAS officers who held top positions during the previous tenure have stepped down. Former Chief Secretary K.M. Abraham, along with retired IAS officers Elangovan and Mini Antony, have relinquished their duties.
High Remuneration and Resignations
The outgoing officials were serving under contract appointments drawing hefty monthly pay scale packages:
- K.M. Abraham (Former CEO): Handled top leadership with a monthly pay of ₹4.05 lakh.
- Elangovan (Former MD, KIFML): Managed Kerala Infrastructure Fund Management Limited with a monthly salary of ₹4.05 lakh.
- Mini Antony (Former Additional CEO): Served with a monthly remuneration of ₹3.00 lakh.
Together, the monthly financial payout for these three positions stood at ₹11.05 lakh.
Serving Officers Assigned Dual Roles to Cut Costs
To streamline state expenditure and optimize resources, the leadership roles have been transitioned to active IAS officers as concurrent charges:
- CEO (KIIFB): Handled by Ajith Patil IAS (Financial Resources Secretary).
- Additional CEO (KIIFB): Handled by Muhammed Shafeeq IAS (Program Implementation Director).
Since these officers manage KIIFB duties as additional responsibilities alongside their primary departments, no extra salary burden falls on the state treasury. This operational shift effectively saves ₹11.05 lakh per month for KIIFB and the public exchequer.
