LOS ANGELES — Marvel Studios has officially announced the main cast for its highly anticipated X-Men reboot, marking the mutants’ landmark debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Jake Schreier, the film is officially scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 5, 2028.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige officially introduced key ensemble members:
Adam Driver as the main villain Nathaniel Essex / Mister Sinister
Christopher Abbott as the telepathic leader Professor Charles Xavier / Prof. X
Inde Navarrette as Anna Marie / Rogue
Maya Boyd as the weather-manipulating Ororo Munroe / Storm
They join previously confirmed cast members Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost.
The inclusion of Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister introduces one of Marvel Comics’ most complex genetics-obsessed antagonists to the big screen, shifting focus away from traditional X-Men villains like Magneto for the MCU launch. Meanwhile, Broadway star Maya Boyd bringing Storm to life and Inde Navarrette stepping into the role of Rogue offer a dynamic blend of fresh talent alongside seasoned stars like Christopher Abbott.
