A Hindu Orator, a Muslim Translator, and Bible Speeches as the Subject! DC Books Releases English Edition of V.D. Satheesan’s ‘Adam, Where Art Thou?’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Highlighting the deep-rooted secular ethos of Kerala, the English translation of the widely discussed book ‘Adam Nee Evide Aakunnu?’ (ആദം നീ എവിടെയാകുന്നു?) authored by Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has officially been released. Published by DC Books, the translated work is titled ‘Adam, Where Art Thou?’.

The release marks a rare cultural milestone in the state: speeches on Biblical philosophy delivered by a leader from the Hindu community have been translated into English by a Muslim writer, Rouf Rumi. In an era of increasing societal divisions, this collaborative effort stands out as a powerful symbol of Kerala’s communal harmony and pluralistic spirit.

The original Malayalam book, which became a bestseller within three months of its release, derives its title from the famous biblical query in the Genesis narrative. Moving beyond simple theological framing, the speeches serve as a deep self-introspection into human responsibility toward fellow beings, society, and nature.

According to DC Books, the publishing team undertook meticulous effort to ensure that the depth and oratorical weight of the original speeches remained uncompromised. Media Secretary Roy Mathew played a key role in organizing and editing the speeches, while the cover design was crafted by Arun Gokul. Publisher Ravi Deecee noted that the English edition will help carry these universal ideas to a wider global audience. The 198-page book is priced at ₹349 and is available across bookstores and digital platforms.
