BJP Reshuffle: Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal & Surendran Get Top Roles

The Bharatiya Janata Party has executed a wide-ranging organizational reshuffle in New Delhi, realigning its core national team to fortify party machinery ahead of crucial state assembly elections. The new setup features a blend of seasoned central leaders, former Union ministers, and regional stalwarts positioned strategically across key functional roles.

Among the headline appointments, former Union Minister Smriti Irani has been inducted as a National General Secretary, returning to frontline party management. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal takes over the crucial post of National Treasurer, while B.L. Santhosh continues his tenure as the National General Secretary (Organisation), ensuring administrative continuity within the ideological nerve center of the party.

The organizational revamp brings noticeable shifts to the party’s southern representation, particularly in Kerala. Former state unit president K. Surendran has been inducted into the national team as a National Secretary, reflecting the central leadership’s trust in his organizational background.

13 Vice Presidents, 8 General Secretaries Announced

The comprehensive list of office-bearers includes 13 National Vice Presidents and 8 National General Secretaries, featuring leaders from diverse electoral battlegrounds across north, west, and northeastern states. Senior leaders such as Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb join Smriti Irani on the roster of General Secretaries.

On the Vice Presidential bench, senior veterans including Vasundhara Raje, Tirath Singh Rawat, and Ram Madhav have been designated key roles to oversee coordination between state party chapters and the central leadership. The rejig demonstrates a deliberate focus on balancing grassroots organizational workers with high-visibility national campaigners.
