Thiruvananthapuram: Welfare pension distribution for the month will begin across Kerala from September 24, 2026, bringing relief to thousands of beneficiaries across the state. The government has sanctioned a total of ₹1,068.79 crore for the pension distribution.
Of the total amount, ₹957.93 crore has been allocated for welfare pensions, while ₹110.86 crore has been earmarked for pensions distributed through various Welfare Fund Boards.
The government said that ensuring the timely and regular distribution of welfare pensions remains a key policy priority under Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan. The administration is following a policy of ensuring that welfare pension payments are made every month without unnecessary delays.
₹1,068.79 Crore Allocated
The sanctioned amount has been divided as follows:
Welfare pensions: ₹957.93 crore
Welfare Fund Board pensions: ₹110.86 crore
Total allocation: ₹1,068.79 crore
The distribution process will begin on September 24, enabling eligible beneficiaries to receive their pension for the month.
Focus on Timely Monthly Payments
Welfare pensions provide crucial financial support to a large section of Kerala’s population, including senior citizens, widows, persons with disabilities and other eligible beneficiaries.
The government has reiterated its commitment to maintaining a regular monthly pension distribution system. Timely payment is particularly important for beneficiaries who depend on their pension to meet essential household and living expenses.
With the latest allocation of more than ₹1,068 crore, the September pension distribution is set to begin from Thursday, September 24.
The government said that maintaining consistency in welfare pension payments and ensuring that beneficiaries receive their monthly assistance on time remain important aspects of its welfare policy.
