Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram Special Train Gets New Stop, Full Schedule Revised

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a significant move benefitting tourists and pilgrims, Southern Railway has announced a new stoppage at Varkala Shivagiri Station for the weekly special trains running between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram North.

According to a press release (No.456/2025-26) dated October 8, 2025, the timings for the entire route of Train No. 01463/01464 have also been completely revised. The changes will be effective from October 9, 2025, for the service from LTT, Mumbai, and from October 11, 2025, for the service from Thiruvananthapuram North.

The new stop fulfills a long-standing demand of passengers, providing direct connectivity to the major pilgrimage and tourist destination of Varkala, famous for the Sivagiri Mutt and its scenic cliffs.
