THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The corridors of the Kerala Secretariat are abuzz with reports of a senior official, long considered a close confidant of the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government, preparing to resign and relocate to Mumbai.
According to sources, the official’s sudden decision follows the LDF’s poor performance in the recent local body elections. With the upcoming Assembly elections casting a shadow of uncertainty over the current government’s continuity, the officer reportedly fears potential investigations and legal scrutiny into past administrative decisions should a new government take power.
The move is being viewed by many in the Secretariat as a proactive measure to avoid future litigation. Reports suggest the official plans to launch a private business in Mumbai, a transition for which preparations were allegedly already underway. As the political climate in Kerala shifts, the exit of such a key administrative figure has sparked intense debate within political and bureaucratic circles.
