The Kerala Legislative Assembly Secretariat has issued a circular declaring September 30, 2025, a working day for its staff, including the Legislative Assembly Hostel.This decision comes despite the government declaring a public holiday on the same date (Tuesday) for Durga Ashtami, part of the Navaratri celebrations (Pooja Veppu), as per G.O.(ordinary) No.4191/2025/GAD dated 26.09.2025.
The reason provided is that a session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly, its 14th session, is scheduled for that day.The circular, dated 27-09-2025 and signed by Secretary Dr. N. Krishna Kumar, states that due to the assembly session, the Secretariat (including the Legislative Assembly Hostel) will be functional on Tuesday, 30.09.2025.
The communication has been sent to all officials of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat (including the Legislative Assembly Hostel), and copies were distributed to the PS to the Honourable Speaker, PS to the Secretary, PA to the Special Secretary, and concerned staff.
