Adv. O.J. Janeesh takes over as Youth Congress Kerala President, succeeding Rahul Mamkootathil

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Adv. O.J. Janeesh has been appointed the new State President of the Youth Congress, Kerala. Janeesh, who previously served as the State Vice President, steps into the role following the resignation of Rahul Mamkootathil amid controversy last month.

In a significant organizational revamp, the national leadership has also named Binu Chulliyil as the new Working President. This is the first time in the history of the Youth Congress that a Working President position has been instituted in the state unit.

The appointments come after Rahul Mamkootathil resigned on September 21st, following a period of intense public controversy.

Adding to the new appointments, Abin Varkey and K.M. Abhijith have been selected as Youth Congress National Secretaries. Both leaders were reportedly among the top contenders for the state president post, and their elevation to national roles is seen as a strategic move by the central leadership.

Adv. O.J. Janeesh brings a wealth of organizational experience to the top post, having started his political career as a KSU Unit President. His progression through the ranks includes serving as Youth Congress Mandalam Vice President, District President, and State Vice President before his current elevation.
