NEW DELHI / THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the spectacular victory of the United Democratic Front (UDF) in the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections, newly sworn-in Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan held a high-level meeting with senior Congress leadership in New Delhi.
Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi shared a warm update on social media detailing the meeting, which was also attended by Sonia Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi.
Expressing immense confidence in the newly formed UDF administration, Rahul Gandhi stated that Kerala has historically stood as an exemplary model for social progress, communal harmony, and people-centric governance. He noted that this foundational vision will continue to guide the new state government’s legislative and welfare agenda.
“It was wonderful to meet Shri V. D. Satheesan ji along with Sonia Gandhi ji and Priyanka Gandhi ji today. Kerala has always stood as a model of harmony, social progress, and people-centric politics – a vision that will continue to inspire this new government’s work for the people. Wishing Satheesan ji and the UDF the very best in this journey,” Rahul Gandhi posted.
The meeting comes right on the heels of the UDF forming its 21-member cabinet after a landslide victory that ended a decade of LDF rule. The central leadership has extended its complete support to Chief Minister Satheesan as his cabinet rolls out its vision for the southern state.
