Back to the Classroom After Years: VD Satheesan Calls ‘Reimagining Keralam’ a Truly Happy Experience

Kozhikode: Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has described his return to a classroom environment after many years as a truly happy and memorable experience, as a special leadership training programme titled ‘Reimagining Keralam’ began at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode.

The two-day Strategic Leadership Retreat brings together members of the state cabinet and key administrative leadership with the objective of introducing greater professionalism, efficiency and long-term strategic thinking into Kerala’s governance system.

The programme aims to look beyond immediate administrative priorities and encourage deeper discussions on Kerala’s long-term future. At a time when governments are facing rapidly changing technological, economic and social challenges, the retreat seeks to develop fresh perspectives for imagining and planning the Kerala of tomorrow.
‘Reimagining Keralam’ is expected to provide a platform for ministers and senior administrators to exchange ideas, examine emerging challenges and explore innovative approaches to governance and public service delivery.

A New Vision for the Future
The initiative reflects an effort to move beyond conventional approaches to administration and develop a more modern, professional and efficient governance framework. Discussions are expected to focus on long-term planning, governance reforms, development priorities and improving the effectiveness of public services.

Satheesan’s participation in the classroom-style sessions has also attracted attention, with the Chief Minister sharing his happiness at experiencing an academic learning environment again after several years.

The Reimagining Keralam Strategic Leadership Retreat at IIM Kozhikode is being viewed as an important platform for collective reflection on the future direction of Kerala. By bringing political leadership and administrative decision-makers together, the programme seeks to help create a roadmap for a more innovative and future-ready Kerala.
