Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 Launched In India At Rs 2.29 Lakh

NEW DELHI: Celebrating ten years of the iconic Himalayan moniker, Royal Enfield has officially launched the all-new Himalayan 440 in India with a starting price of Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as an accessible and rugged adventure-tourer below the liquid-cooled Himalayan 450, the new model revives the beloved silhouette of the original Himalayan 411 while packing a bigger, more refined engine and updated cycle parts.

Bookings for the motorcycle have opened across Royal Enfield dealerships and online channels. To mark the milestone, initial production batches will sport a special 10-year anniversary badge on the fuel tank.

Engine & Performance
Powering the Himalayan 440 is an updated 443cc, single-cylinder, long-stroke engine that generates 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Significantly upgrading highway capabilities, the motorcycle features a 6-speed transmission, replacing the 5-speed setup found on the original model. Royal Enfield has refined the motor to lower noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels.
Hardware & Features
Chassis & Suspension: Built on a half-duplex split-cradle frame, it gets 41mm telescopic front forks (200mm travel) and a linkage-type rear monoshock (180mm travel).

Wheels & Braking: Equipped with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, 220mm ground clearance, and an accessible 800mm seat height. Stopping power comes from a 300mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc with switchable dual-channel ABS.
Features & Tech: LED headlight, digital-analogue instrument cluster, Tripper Navigation, USB Type-C charging port, and a 15-litre fuel tank.

Color Options & Customization
The Himalayan 440 is available in three colorways: Sela Black, Mustang Brown, and Nelong White. Riders can further configure the bike with official accessories, including hard panniers, top boxes, touring seats, and crash protection.
