CHENNAI/HYDERABAD: Following the massive success of his latest Telugu-Tamil bilingual film, Kaantha, superstar Dulquer Salmaan has addressed swirling rumours about his potential shift to Hyderabad. The actor, who has become a prominent name in Telugu cinema with hits like Sita Raman and an exciting line-up including Lucky Bhaskar and Kalki 2898 AD, clarified his residential plans during a recent media interaction.
Dispelling the speculation, Salmaan revealed that while he has relocated, his new base is Chennai, not Hyderabad.
”I’m doing both Tamil and Telugu films now, so Chennai makes it convenient for me to travel for shoots,” the actor stated. “It’s also easy to reach Hyderabad whenever required.”
The move highlights the actor’s strategic focus on accommodating his packed schedule across both the Tamil (Kollywood) and Telugu (Tollywood) industries.
However, the actor’s connection to Hyderabad remains strong, as he revealed that his daughter is currently studying in the city. Despite this, he humorously shared the reason he avoids buying property in the Telangana capital, opting instead for temporary hotel stays.
”Whenever I’m shooting here, my wife insists I stay in hotels,” he said with a laugh. “She feels that if I buy a house, I might stay on longer even after work is done.”
Salmaan’s clarification offers fans a clear picture of his balancing act between a demanding pan-Indian career and family life, settling on Chennai as the strategic hub for his rapidly expanding presence in South Indian cinema.
