No Prior Appointment Needed to Meet Kerala CM V.D. Satheesan; Public Access Made Simple at Secretariat

Thiruvananthapuram: A misleading campaign has been circulating among the public claiming that prior permission or an official appointment is mandatory to meet Kerala Chief Minister Shri V.D. Satheesan. Officials have clarified that these rumors are entirely false and aimed at creating unnecessary confusion. The government has put in place seamless arrangements for common citizens to meet the Chief Minister and directly voice their grievances.

On days when the Chief Minister is present in Thiruvananthapuram, any citizen can visit the State Secretariat to meet him. The procedure to gain access is simple and straightforward.
Step-by-Step Procedure for Visitors:
Visitor Pass: Visitors must reach the Gate of the Secretariat, where a dedicated pass issuance counter operates.
Identity Proof: To meet the Chief Minister or other cabinet ministers, individuals need to present their identity card (like Aadhaar card) at the counter to obtain a visitor pass.
Reaching the Office: Armed with the pass, visitors can take the elevator to the third floor of the specific block where the Chief Minister’s Office is located.

Direct Access with No Retrictions
Because there are no stringent restrictions on entry at the Chief Minister’s Office, the visitor lounge remains crowded with citizens from all walks of life. While the heavy rush means it might take some time to get your turn, the Chief Minister makes it a point to meet every single visitor.

People can hand over their complaints, petitions, or suggestions directly to him, whether the matter is big or small. Provisions have also been made for people to sit down or talk privately if the issue requires confidentiality. Therefore, citizens are advised not to fall prey to fake reports demanding prior appointments to meet the CM.
