Pradeep Ranganathan’s ‘Dude’ Roars at Box Office, Closes in on ₹70 Crore Milestone
Chennai: Actor Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest romantic entertainer, ‘Dude,’ continues its sensational run at the Indian box office, inching ever closer to the coveted ₹70 crore mark. After just 12 days since its release, the film, which has been hailed for its bold and unconventional narrative, has cemented its status as a major success.
The movie, which pairs Ranganathan with Mamitha Baiju, has reportedly collected an estimated ₹68 crore across India in its 12-day theatrical run, falling just ₹2 crore short of the significant benchmark. The remarkable collection comes despite a drop in earnings after the initial opening week.
According to early estimates, Dude added approximately ₹1.25 crore net to its tally on Day 12. The film maintained respectable occupancy rates, recording an overall Tamil occupancy of 16.20% and a Telugu occupancy of 13.02% on that day. The strong performance highlights the film’s widespread appeal, with its initial week contributing a staggering ₹56.5 crore.
Directed by Keerthiswaran, the film has received praise for its daring storytelling and performances by the lead pair, including supporting roles from R. Sarathkumar and Rohini. With decent reviews and sustained audience interest, industry analysts project that Dude is well-positioned to cross the ₹100 crore milestone in the coming weeks. The film has already surpassed the lifetime collection of Ranganathan’s previous hit, Love Today, establishing it as one of the biggest successes of his career.
