Belém, Brazil: Santos FC snatched a thrilling 2-1 away victory against Clube do Remo in Round 28 of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A at the Pará Olympic Stadium (Mangueirão). After a goalless first half, all the action packed into an intense final 15 minutes of regulation time.
Rony broke the deadlock for Santos in the 78th minute following a well-worked attack. Clube do Remo quickly struck back in the 83rd minute as Marllon equalized to restore hope for the home side. However, star forward Gabriel Barbosa delivered the decisive blow in the 87th minute to seal all three points for Santos FC.
Remo’s Gabriel Poveda received a second yellow card in stoppage time, ending any chance of a late equalizer.
