NEW DELHI, November 5, 2025 — Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday dropped his much-anticipated “Hydrogen Bomb” revelation, levelling massive allegations of electoral fraud in the recent Haryana Assembly elections. At a press conference in the AICC headquarters, Mr. Gandhi claimed that the democratic mandate had been “stolen” through a centralized operation involving approximately 25 lakh (2.5 million) fake votes, urging young people to take serious note of the matter.
Mr. Gandhi asserted that roughly one in every eight voters in the state’s electoral list is fraudulent, claiming the Congress party’s widely predicted landslide victory was manipulated into a loss. The cornerstone of his evidence, which he referred to as the ‘H Files’, was the alleged use of a Brazilian model’s stock photograph to fraudulently register and cast multiple votes.
”We have what we call the ‘H’ Files, which show how an entire state has been stolen,” Gandhi stated. He highlighted a particularly shocking case: “A Brazilian model’s stock photograph was used to cast 22 votes across ten different booths in Haryana, under multiple names like Seema, Sweety, and Saraswati. This is not a local operation; this is a centralised theft.”
The Congress leader detailed various forms of alleged manipulation, claiming the total manipulation count stood at 25 lakh votes. This figure included:
- 5.21 lakh duplicate voters.
- 93,174 invalid voters.
- 19.26 lakh bulk voters.
- 1.24 lakh voters registered with fake photographs.
Mr. Gandhi also pointed out an extreme case where one person’s photograph was allegedly used for 223 votes across two different booths. He questioned the role of the Election Commission (EC), alleging that it possesses software capable of removing duplicate voters but is choosing not to use it. “The EC is in partnership with the Prime Minister and Home Minister, and they have destroyed Indian democracy,” he alleged, demanding answers from the Chief Election Commissioner.
The allegations come months after Mr. Gandhi warned the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of an impending “Hydrogen Bomb,” following an earlier “Atom Bomb” exposé regarding voter deletions in Karnataka. While the BJP has vehemently denied these charges as baseless and a distraction from the Congress party’s organizational failures, the seriousness of the evidence presented is expected to intensify the political storm surrounding election integrity across the country.
