‘Congress Mukt Bharat’ Architect? Jayashankar Trolls KC Venugopal Over Kerala Focus

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary K.C. Venugopal has been mercilessly trolled by prominent political observer Adv. A. Jayashankar, whose satirical barb takes aim at Venugopal’s recent pledge to become more active in Kerala politics.

The trigger for the jibe was Venugopal’s statement that he would focus actively on the state. However, Jayashankar’s lengthy Facebook post suggests Venugopal’s involvement might be the last nail in the Congress party’s coffin, nationally and locally.

The ‘Architect of Congress’ Misfortune’
Adv. Jayashankar opens his attack by echoing a widely held belief among political analysts: that Congress’s recent electoral misfortunes are linked directly to Venugopal’s political maneuvering following his appointment as AICC General Secretary in charge of organisation.

”The Congress party has been in a bad phase ever since KC assumed the post of General Secretary,” Jayashankar’s post stated, before delivering the cutting comparison. “Unlike an astute strategist like Ahmed Patel, K.C. Venugopal’s political moves are widely believed by political observers across the country to be the reason behind the BJP’s continuous victories.”

Mission Kerala’ is a Mockery
Jayashankar then proceeded to mock Venugopal’s track record by listing the states where Congress has lost power or faced crippling internal crises, attributing the ‘strengthening’ of the party to him.
”He ‘strengthened’ the party in Goa, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Maharashtra by giving them ‘Power Malt.’ Now he is fulfilling the same responsibility in Bihar,” the post read sarcastically.
Turning his attention to the home state of Kerala, Jayashankar suggested that even the combined efforts of top state leaders would be insufficient to save the party if Venugopal steps in.

”Kerala is the next target,” he declared. “Sathishan (Satheesan) alone cannot make the Third Pinarayi government and a ‘Congress Mukt’ state a reality. It would be difficult even if Ramesh (Ramesh Chennithala), Murali (Muralidharan), Sunny (P.T. Thomas), and Shafi (Parambil) all join hands.”
”For that, Venugopal-ji himself must step into the ring. He will unleash his ancient ‘Kadathanadan moves’,” Jayashankar wrote, concluding with a dramatic and ominous prayer:
”Oh, Gods of the martial tradition, revered Gurus and elders, stand guard! There will be no rest until the party’s post-funeral rites are complete….”
